Afro-pessimism

Afro-Pessimism is an intellectual and philosophical framework that examines the persistent, systemic anti-Blackness in society. It argues that the historical and ongoing devaluation of Black life is rooted in deep social structures, rendering hope for true equality as often unattainable. Proponents suggest that conventional approaches to racial justice may be insufficient because they overlook the ingrained ways in which Black existence is marginalized. Afro-Pessimism challenges people to confront uncomfortable truths about racism and its implications, rather than simply seeking solutions that assume an equal playing field.
