Afghan history

Afghanistan has a rich history of as a crossroads for empires, culture, and trade. It was part of ancient Persia, later influenced by Alexander the Great and Islamic empires. In the 19th century, it became a buffer in “The Great Game” between Britain and Russia. In the 20th century, it faced periods of monarchy, coups, and Soviet invasion in 1979. The US led a coalition to oust the Taliban after 9/11 in 2001. Despite efforts for stability, ongoing conflict, political turmoil, and external influences have shaped its modern history, making Afghanistan a complex and resilient nation.
