Affirmation Theory

Affirmation Theory suggests that people tend to reinforce their existing beliefs and attitudes through their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When someone holds a particular view, they often seek out information or experiences that support it, strengthening their commitment to that belief. This process can create a cycle where beliefs become more ingrained over time, making it harder to change perspectives. Essentially, the theory explains how individuals affirm their identity and worldview by consistently aligning their actions and thoughts with their preexisting beliefs.
