Advantage scoring

Advantage scoring in bridge is a way to measure which side has a stronger position when bidding has been completed. After a bid, the dealer compares the values of the combined hands (high cards and length in suits) to determine who has the "advantage." If the declarer’s side has a clear edge in potential-winning cards, they are said to have the advantage. This helps players understand who is better positioned to win the contract and guides strategic decisions, emphasizing the relative strength of each side’s holdings rather than just the final bid or points.
