Adhesion Theory

Adhesion Theory explains how different substances stick together at their surfaces. This phenomenon occurs due to attractive forces between the molecules of the materials in contact, such as van der Waals forces, hydrogen bonds, and electrostatic interactions. For instance, when water droplets stick to a leaf, it's because the water molecules are attracted to the leaf's surface molecules. This theory helps us understand various everyday occurrences, from why tape sticks to paper to why paint adheres to walls, emphasizing the importance of surface properties in adhesion.
