Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is a medical condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This can cause symptoms like heavy menstrual bleeding, severe cramps, and pelvic pain. The exact cause isn't fully understood, but it's more common in women who have had children and those in their 30s and 40s. Diagnosis often involves imaging tests, and treatment options include pain relief medications, hormonal therapy, or surgery for severe cases. Unlike fibroids, which are growths, adenomyosis involves the spread of tissue within the uterine muscle.
