Adductor muscles

The adductor muscles are a group of muscles located in the inner thigh. Their main function is to pull the legs toward the middle of the body, such as when crossing your legs or bringing your thighs together. They help with movements like walking, running, and maintaining balance. These muscles include the adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus, gracilis, and pectineus. Proper strength and flexibility in the adductors are important for overall lower body function and injury prevention. They are activated when you perform motions that involve bringing your legs inward or stabilizing your hips.
