Additive colour mixing

Additive colour mixing involves combining different light colours to produce new colours. When red, green, and blue light are combined at varying intensities, they create a range of colours, including white when all three are mixed fully. This process is how screens like TVs and computer monitors work, converting digital signals into coloured pixels through additive mixing. Essentially, it’s about adding light—more colours overlap, the brighter and more varied the resulting colour. Unlike paint (subtractive mixing), additive mixing builds colours by adding light, which is fundamental to digital displays and visual media.
