Adaptive Evolution

Adaptive evolution is the process by which populations develop traits that improve their chances of survival and reproduction in their environment. Over generations, beneficial traits become more common because individuals with these traits are more likely to pass them on. This gradual change helps species better fit their surroundings, such as animals developing camouflage or birds evolving better beaks for feeding. Adaptive evolution is driven by natural selection, where the environment "selects" traits that are advantageous, leading to a better match between organisms and their habitats over time.
