Adaptation Syndrome

Adaptation Syndrome describes the body's response to ongoing stress, consisting of three stages: alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. Initially, the body reacts strongly to a stressor (alarm), activating defenses. Then, it tries to adapt to the stressor (resistance), maintaining balance. If the stress persists without relief, the body's resources become depleted (exhaustion), leading to increased vulnerability to health issues. This process explains how chronic stress can impact physical and mental well-being over time.
