Adapa

Adapa is a figure from ancient Mesopotamian mythology, often depicted as a wise and intelligent sage or priest. He is known for his wisdom and learning, which were gifts from the god Ea (also known as Enki). In one famous myth, Adapa is summoned to the heavens after accidentally breaking the wings of the South Wind. During his visit, he is offered the chance to attain immortality but, due to his lack of knowledge about the true nature of the gods' offer, he refuses. His story explores themes of knowledge, human limitations, and the relationship between humanity and the divine.
