Acolhuans

The Acolhuans were a group of Nahua-speaking people who lived in the region of modern-day central Mexico before and during the early 16th century, particularly around the Valley of Mexico. They are considered a part of the larger Nahua civilization, which included the Aztecs. The Acolhuans played a key role in the political and cultural landscape of the area, eventually forming alliances like the Triple Alliance with the Mexica (Aztecs). Their society was structured around city-states, and they contributed to the rich cultural, religious, and artistic traditions of pre-Hispanic Mexico.
