Acllahuasi
Acllahuasi, often referred to in the context of the Inca civilization, was a term for women who were dedicated to religious service, particularly to the sun god Inti. These women, known as "Acllas" or "Chosen Women," were selected for their beauty and purity and lived in special institutions where they engaged in weaving, crafting, and other sacred duties. They played a crucial role in the Inca culture, preserving and passing on traditions, and were sometimes married to Inca nobles to strengthen alliances. Their contributions were vital to both the spiritual and economic life of the empire.
