Achilles

The Achilles is a strong, fibrous tendon located at the back of the lower leg, connecting the calf muscles to the heel bone. It plays a vital role in walking, running, and jumping by enabling the foot to push off the ground. Due to its high tension and limited blood supply, it is susceptible to injuries like tears or tendinitis, especially in athletes. Damage to the Achilles tendon can cause pain, swelling, and difficulty moving the foot. Proper stretching, strengthening, and gradual training help maintain its health and prevent injury.
