Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, is a system that evaluates and compares universities worldwide based on their academic and research performance. It considers factors such as the number of highly cited researchers, research publications in top journals, the institution’s Nobel laureates and Fields Medalists, and overall research output. The goal is to identify institutions excelling in research, innovation, and academic influence. Universities are then ranked accordingly, helping students, researchers, and institutions understand global academic standards and identify leading centers of knowledge and scholarship.
