AC Generator
An AC generator, or alternator, is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy using the principle of electromagnetic induction. It produces alternating current (AC), where the flow of electricity periodically reverses direction. Typically found in power plants and vehicles, it consists of a rotating component (rotor) and a stationary part (stator). As the rotor spins within the magnetic field, it generates electricity that can be used to power homes and industries. AC is preferred for long-distance transmission because it can be easily transformed to different voltages, reducing energy loss during transport.
