Abu Bakr Shekau

Abu Bakr Shekau was a Nigerian militant leader, best known as the founder and longtime leader of Boko Haram, an extremist group aiming to establish an Islamic state through violent means. His group has carried out attacks on civilians, government targets, and schools, especially in northeastern Nigeria. Shekau’s leadership was marked by radical ideology and brutal tactics, making him a notorious figure in global efforts to combat terrorism. He died around 2021 during ongoing military operations.
