ABC model of attitudes

The ABC model of attitudes suggests that our attitudes are made up of three components: affecting how we feel about something (Affective), what we believe or think about it (Behavioral), and how we actually act toward it (Cognitive). For example, if you have a positive attitude toward hiking, you might feel excited when thinking about it (Affective), believe it's good exercise and enjoyable (Cognitive), and go hiking regularly (Behavioral). These three parts work together to form and influence our overall attitude toward a person, idea, or object.
