8 Limbs

The 8 Limbs, or Ashtanga Yoga, are guiding principles in yoga that promote overall well-being. They include ethical behaviors like non-violence and truthfulness (Yamas), personal discipline and contentment (Niyamas), physical postures (Asanas), breath control (Pranayama), and sensory withdrawal (Pratyahara). Further steps involve concentration (Dharana), meditation (Dhyana), and ultimately, a state of spiritual ecstasy or union with the divine (Samadhi). Together, these limbs offer a holistic approach to developing mental clarity, physical health, ethical integrity, and spiritual growth.
