2nd Australian Imperial Force

The 2nd Australian Imperial Force (2nd AIF) was the main military body formed by Australia during World War II, established in 1939. It consisted of volunteer soldiers who served overseas, primarily in campaigns against Axis powers in the Pacific and Europe. The 2nd AIF played a significant role in major battles, including those in North Africa, Greece, and Malaysia. Unlike the earlier 1st AIF from World War I, the 2nd AIF was a larger and more organized force, reflecting Australia's commitment to supporting Allied efforts during the war and contributing to the eventual victory in 1945.
