2012 Agreement

The 2012 Agreement was an international deal aiming to limit Iran’s nuclear program, ensuring it couldn’t develop nuclear weapons. In exchange for sanctions relief and economic benefits, Iran agreed to reduce its uranium stockpiles, limit nuclear research, and allow international inspections. The goal was to prevent nuclear proliferation while offering Iran economic incentives to comply. The agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was a diplomatic effort to promote stability and prevent nuclear escalation in the Middle East. However, the U.S. later withdrew from the deal in 2018, leading to ongoing negotiations and concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities.
