2009 Recovery Act
The 2009 Recovery Act, officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, was a U.S. government initiative aimed at counteracting the economic downturn caused by the 2008 financial crisis. It provided approximately $787 billion in stimulus funding for various sectors, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, and renewable energy. The act sought to create jobs, boost consumer spending, and stimulate economic growth through tax cuts, direct government spending, and support for state and local governments. It was also intended to invest in projects that would enhance long-term economic stability and promote job creation.
