1995 attack
The 1995 attack refers to the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, when a truck bomb destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Led by anti-government militant Timothy McVeigh, the explosion killed 168 people and injured hundreds, marking one of the deadliest acts of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. The attack aimed to retaliate against government actions and highlight anti-government sentiments. It prompted nationwide discussions on security, extremism, and terrorism prevention, and resulted in strengthened federal protocols and anti-terror laws.
