1962 Sino-Indian War

The 1962 Sino-Indian War was a short conflict between China and India over disputed border regions, mainly in the Himalayas. Tensions arose from unclear borders and conflicting territorial claims, compounded by India's decision to build roadways in these areas. China launched a surprise military invasion, quickly capturing territories like Aksai Chin and parts of NEFA (now Arunachal Pradesh). India was unprepared and faced logistical challenges, leading to a swift Chinese victory. The war ended with China declaring a ceasefire, and the border disputes remained unresolved, significantly impacting India-China relations.
