1848 Young Irelander Rebellion

The 1848 Young Irelander Rebellion was an effort by Irish nationalists to gain independence from Britain. Driven by economic hardship, political repression, and a desire for Gaelic culture, a group called Young Ireland planned to rise up against British rule. In July 1848, they attempted an insurrection in Ireland, mainly in Dublin, but it quickly failed due to poor coordination and British military response. Despite its failure, the rebellion inspired future independence movements and highlighted widespread discontent with British control during a time of global upheaval.
