15th Light Dragoons
The 15th Light Dragoons was a British cavalry regiment established in 1794, part of a tradition of mounted soldiers known as dragoons. They were trained for fast, flexible combat, able to ride quickly into action, engage the enemy, and then relocate efficiently. The regiment participated in various military campaigns during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, including the Napoleonic Wars. Their role involved reconnaissance, screening other troops, and engaging in light cavalry tactics. The unit was disbanded in 1820, but its history reflects the important function of mobile, horseback soldiers in British military history.
