Związek Walki Zbrojnej (ZWZ)

The Związek Walki Zbrojnej (ZWZ) was a secret Polish underground resistance organization formed in 1939 during World War II, following Poland's invasion by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. Its primary goal was to organize and prepare for armed resistance against occupying forces. The ZWZ operated covertly, gathering intelligence, sabotaging enemy operations, and mobilizing Polish fighters. In 1942, it was reorganized into the Armia Krajowa (Home Army), which became the main resistance movement in Poland, playing a significant role in the country's efforts to resist occupation and maintain national sovereignty during the war.
