ZOB (Jewish Combat Organization)
The Jewish Combat Organization (ZOB) was a clandestine resistance group formed in 1942 in Nazi-occupied Poland. Its primary aim was to oppose the Holocaust and fight against the Nazis’ systematic persecution of Jews. ZOB coordinated efforts for armed resistance, including participating in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, where Jewish fighters launched a courageous, albeit ultimately unsuccessful, stand against German forces. The organization embodied Jewish defiance and resilience during the Holocaust, striving to resist, survive, and protest the genocidal policies imposed upon them.
