Zine culture
Zine culture revolves around self-published, small-batch magazines or pamphlets called "zines" that often explore niche topics, personal stories, or subcultures. Created by individuals or small groups, zines emphasize DIY (do-it-yourself) ethos, creative expression, and community sharing outside mainstream media. They are usually produced with limited resources, using printing and copying tools, and distributed through local shops, events, or online. Zine culture fosters autonomous creativity, amplifies marginalized voices, and serves as a grassroots platform for ideas, art, activism, and identity. It remains a vibrant form of independent, participatory media.
