
Ziggurat of Chogha Zanbil
The Ziggurat of Chogha Zanbil, located in present-day Iran, is an ancient Sumerian monument built around 1250 BCE. It resembles a stepped pyramid and was part of a larger temple complex dedicated to the Elamite god Inshushinak. Standing about 25 meters tall, it was made from mud bricks and served as a religious center. Its architectural design reflects the ingenuity of ancient civilizations in creating structures that connected the earth to the heavens. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Elamite civilization and their craftsmanship.
