Zhang Zai
Zhang Zai was a Chinese philosopher from the 11th century who emphasized the importance of ethics, harmony, and the interconnectedness of all things. He believed that understanding and cultivating one’s moral character could lead to social harmony and personal fulfillment. His ideas centered around the concept that the universe and human nature are fundamentally good, and that through reflection and moral effort, individuals could align themselves with the natural order. Zhang Zai's teachings influenced Neo-Confucianism, encouraging a holistic view of morality, nature, and human life as an integrated whole.
