Zhang Xueliang

Zhang Xueliang was a prominent Chinese military leader and politician in the early 20th century. He is best known for his role in uniting China against Japanese aggression during the Second World War and for his part in the 1936 Xi'an Incident, where he detained Chiang Kai-shek to push for a unified front against Japan. A son of a famous warlord, Zhang later contributed to China's modernization efforts. His actions significantly influenced Chinese history, especially in the struggle to resist Japanese invasion and in shaping the country's political landscape during a tumultuous period.
