Zapatista Army

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) is a revolutionary group in southern Mexico, formed in 1994, primarily composed of indigenous peoples. They advocate for indigenous rights, social justice, and regional autonomy, opposing government policies and economic globalization that harm their communities. Known for their disciplined organization and use of guerrilla tactics, they also promote transparent governance and sustainable development. The EZLN gained international attention through their uprising on the day Mexico's North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) took effect, symbolizing resistance to economic policies perceived as detrimental to marginalized populations.
