Zand dynasty

The Zand Dynasty was a short-lived Iranian ruling family that governed Persia from 1751 to 1794. Founded by Karim Khan Zand, who became a prominent leader after a period of chaos following the decline of the Safavid Empire. The Zands are known for restoring stability, promoting trade, and supporting arts and architecture. Unlike some earlier Persian dynasties, they focused on consolidating power locally rather than expansive conquest, maintaining relative peace within Iran. Their rule ended when Agha Mohammed Khan Qajar took control, leading to the rise of the Qajar Dynasty.
