
Zambezi Watercourse Commission
The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) is a regional organization created by countries sharing the Zambezi River, including Angola, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its purpose is to coordinate and manage the sustainable use of the river’s water resources, ensure fair distribution, and prevent conflicts. ZAMCOM promotes cooperative planning and efficient water management to support development, agriculture, hydroelectric power, and environmental conservation across the basin, fostering regional stability and sustainable growth for all member states.
