Zaidiyyah
Zaidiyyah, also known as Zaidi Shia Islam, is a branch of Shia Islam that primarily exists in Yemen. It emphasizes the importance of political leadership based on merit and knowledge, advocating that qualified descendants of the Prophet Muhammad, known as Imams, should lead the community. Unlike some other Shia groups that recognize a single hidden Imam, Zaidis support active, recognized leaders who can be challenged or replaced if they deviate from Islamic principles. Their beliefs blend elements of Sunni and Shia thought, with a focus on justice, community engagement, and adherence to Islamic law.
