Zafirlukast

Zafirlukast is a medication used to prevent and manage asthma symptoms. It works by blocking certain substances in the body called leukotrienes, which contribute to inflammation, airway constriction, and mucus production in the lungs. By inhibiting these effects, zafirlukast helps reduce asthma attacks and makes breathing easier. It is taken orally, usually once or twice a day, as part of a long-term treatment plan. However, it does not treat sudden asthma symptoms or attacks; instead, it helps control the underlying inflammation to prevent symptoms from worsening.
