
Z-Method
The Z-Method is a computational technique used in materials science to determine a material’s melting point, especially at high pressures. Unlike traditional methods that heat a material until it melts, the Z-Method gradually increases energy and observes if the material remains solid or becomes liquid. When the solid and liquid phases coexist, it indicates the melting temperature under those conditions. This approach helps scientists predict how materials behave under extreme environments, such as the Earth's interior or in high-pressure experiments, providing valuable insights into their thermal stability and phase transitions.
