Yuracaré

The Yuracaré are an indigenous people living in central Bolivia, primarily near the Tapajós River basin. They have a rich cultural heritage with unique traditions, languages, and social practices. Traditionally, they survive through fishing, hunting, and small-scale agriculture, relying closely on their natural environment. Their language, also called Yuracaré, belongs to the Chibchan family. Despite pressures from modernization and external influences, the Yuracaré work to preserve their cultural identity, customs, and land rights. They are recognized for their resilient community and deep connection to their ancestral territories in the Bolivian Amazon rainforest.
