Yugoslav Partisans
The Yugoslav Partisans were a communist-led resistance movement during World War II, fighting against occupying Axis powers such as Germany, Italy, and their collaborators in Yugoslavia. Founded in 1941 and led by Josip Broz Tito, they aimed to resist oppression, preserve Yugoslav unity, and establish a socialist government. They engaged in guerrilla warfare, sabotage, and gathering intelligence, ultimately playing a significant role in liberating Yugoslavia from occupation. Their efforts helped shape post-war Yugoslavia into a socialist federation and contributed to the broader anti-fascist resistance in Europe.
