Youth Offending Team

A Youth Offending Team (YOT) is a group of professionals responsible for helping young people—typically aged 10 to 17—who have committed offenses. They work to support these youth to understand the impact of their actions and to prevent reoffending. The team may include social workers, police officers, and education specialists. They assess the individual needs of each young person and develop tailored programs, which can include counseling, community service, or educational support. The goal is to promote positive behavior, accountability, and integration into society, ultimately reducing repeat offenses and helping young people make better choices.
