Yoshihito (Taisho Emperor)
Yoshihito, known as Emperor Taisho, was the 122nd Emperor of Japan, reigning from 1912 to 1926. His modest reign followed the long rule of his father, Emperor Meiji, and was marked by political shifts toward greater democracy and modernization. Due to health issues caused by a stroke, his ability to govern was limited, and power gradually transferred to his government leaders. Taisho's era is often seen as a time of relative political openness and cultural change in Japan, paving the way for subsequent developments in the country's modern history.
