Yomud
The Yomud are a Turkic-speaking nomadic ethnic group primarily found in Turkmenistan and parts of Central Asia. Historically, they were renowned as skilled horsemen and weavers, especially known for their intricate textile and carpet crafts. Traditionally, the Yomud practiced a semi-nomadic lifestyle, moving seasonally with their livestock. They have their own distinct language dialect, cultural customs, and social structure. Today, while some continue their traditional ways, many have integrated into modern society, maintaining their cultural identity through crafts, music, and community practices.
