Yazidi Genocide

The Yazidi Genocide refers to a series of targeted mass killings and crimes committed against the Yazidi people, a religious minority in Iraq, primarily by ISIS between 2014 and 2017. ISIS aimed to eradicate their community due to their religious beliefs, involving mass shootings, forced conversions, sexual violence, and kidnapping of thousands of Yazidis. Many Yazidis lost family members, were displaced, or faced severe trauma. The genocide has been recognized internationally as a horrific example of religious and ethnic persecution, highlighting the ongoing need for justice and protection of vulnerable minorities.
