Yarmoukian culture

The Yarmoukian culture, dating from around 6300 to 5300 BCE, was an early Neolithic society located in the Middle Eastern region near the Yarmouk River. It is notable for pioneering settled village life, developing some of the earliest known pottery, and practicing farming and animal domestication. The culture reflects a transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture, with evidence of organized community living, tool-making, and early social structures. Its innovations laid groundwork for later development of complex societies in the region, making it significant in understanding the origins of settled human civilization.
