Yang Chen Ning

Yang Chen Ning is a renowned Chinese-American physicist celebrated for his groundbreaking work in theoretical physics. He made significant contributions to understanding how particles behave at atomic and subatomic levels, especially in explaining the properties of the weak force—the fundamental interaction responsible for certain types of radioactive decay. His research helped shape the Standard Model of particle physics, which is the leading theory describing the fundamental particles and forces in the universe. In 1957, he was awarded the Nobel Prize jointly with Tsung-Dao Lee for their discovery of parity violation in weak interactions, a fundamental insight that transformed physics.
