Yamanashi Maglev Test Line

The Yamanashi Maglev Test Line is a high-speed train track in Japan designed to develop and test magnetic levitation (maglev) technology. Maglev trains use powerful magnets to float above the track, reducing friction and allowing for very fast travel—potentially over 600 km/h (373 mph). Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, this track is a testing facility where engineers refine maglev systems, aiming to create faster, smoother, and more energy-efficient transportation for future commercial use, such as the planned Chuo Shinkansen line connecting Tokyo and Nagoya.
