Yacoub operation

The Yacoub operation is a specialized heart surgery used to treat complex aortic aneurysms or dissections involving the ascending aorta and aortic arch. It involves removing the diseased section of the aorta and replacing it with a synthetic graft. During the procedure, surgeons carefully reconstruct the aorta and reattach the head and arm arteries, sometimes preserving the patient's own aortic arch tissue if healthy. This operation aims to strengthen the aorta, prevent rupture, and restore normal blood flow from the heart to the body, often used in complex cases where traditional repairs are insufficient.
