Y-chromosome analysis
Y-chromosome analysis examines the small piece of DNA found only in males, inherited from father to son. Because the Y chromosome is passed relatively unchanged through generations, it helps trace paternal lineage and ancestry. Genetic variations, called mutations, occur over time and can be used to identify specific family lines or populations. This analysis is useful in fields like genealogy, anthropology, and forensic science, allowing us to understand male ancestry, migration patterns, and relatedness among individuals or groups.
