Y-Chromosome Adam

Y-Chromosome Adam refers to the most recent common male ancestor from whom all currently living men are descended through their direct paternal line. This individual is estimated to have lived roughly 200,000 to 300,000 years ago. The concept helps scientists trace human ancestry and migration patterns by studying the Y chromosome, which is passed exclusively from father to son without recombining. It's important to note that Y-Chromosome Adam is not the only man alive at that time but the only one whose Y chromosome lineage has persisted to today through successive generations.
